Happy New Year!!!

Feliz año nuevo!!!! I know things don’t look very bright now but we need to have hope that this year is going to be good. Nothing is written yet so why not?? I’m going to wear green tonight just to represent that, HOPE. So we were going to stay here tonight watching movies but it seems no one in the family is going to do nothing special including my brother in law and his family who lives almost right next door to us on another street and who is going to be working until 9:30 because he works in the airport (TSA). They invited us to their house and because it is right here we are going to go. We don’t like to go far on New Year’s eve. Some stupid people on this country have the stupid custom of firing guns at the air at midnight. So we are a little afraid. It has been really improving the last few years because of very good campaigns against it.
Anyway what I want for next year first of all is health for me and all my love ones. I want everyone that I love and care to be with me again this time next year. I want them all to be safe and healthy. I want for things to get better!!! I know is not going to be easy….but we can hope. Hope that finally that building that we are selling gets sold. Please God!! So we can amend our mistakes and start all over I want to be given that opportunity. I want this new year to be better at work for me and Eugenio and that my children continue to be happy and strong. I want to travel again!! So to all my friends I wish the best for this year and see you in 2009 UHHH HUUUU!!

HI!!

Just that. I want to write more but not much to tell. Anyway I had a good Christmas with my family. I got a one a digital frame for my pics. It was very difficult for me to choose the pictures because I have so many. It makes me smile. Tomorrow and Tuesday I’m going shopping with my kids because they want to spend the money Santa gave them. We are going to stay at home for New Year’s . We are going to do a movie marathon instead.We are not going to Mayaguez because my aunt ( the actress) is coming to visit and she is staying with them and I’m going on the first week of the year to see her. I
m going to put the pics much bigger because I noticed the click thing no longer works. Someone knows why?? Anyway.. talk to you later

Merry Christmas!!

Christmas eve already! This night I’m going to my brother in law house to celebrate and tomorrow I’ll be going to my parents early in the morning until Friday morning. This time is going to be just me and my family and my sister and her family at my parents. My brothers and sister couldn’t come this year because the airplane tickets are so expensive.So they will remain in the United States with their families. I hope they have a beautiful Christmas. As I hope all of you have. Filled with all the love of your family and friends.

The truth and nothing but the truth

I must confess that I avoid the Cruise Critic threads that talk about ships sailing from here. It makes me mad sometimes when people start to talk so bad about the “locals”. It makes me mad when they talk in a way that makes us looks like savages and generalize about all of us like something you should avoid like a terrible disease. We are not all like that. It’s true that we get great prices and that makes it easier for every kind of people to go. People that have never been on a cruise and doesn’t know how to behave. Or simply don’t care or think that if they are on a cruise ship as passenger they are better than others. It’s a minority. The minority that makes noise and we are not alone in this. Every country has their ugly people. I also travelled a lot of times because of this great prices but us like many others know how to behave and the blessing that it is just to be there. I also have to confess that we avoided The Destiny for many years because of that reason and that we are doing the same with AOS. Attitude that’s one thing. I’m the king of the World attitude and i’m the owner of this ship and you are here to serve me and I’m going to do what I want.
I’m paying. The thing is that I know that many of this things are true. That’s another reason I don’t read those reviews, shame.
I’m going to tell you about Eugenio’s experience onboard, not Carnival, but Celebrity’s Summit. Again great price the ship had a lot of puertorricans onboard. But there was a bunch of like 6 or 7 that were making all the noise onboard. Clearly visible at all times but the same 6 or 7. This are some examples of what they were doing:
Jumping from lounge chair to lounge chair on the pool area at night in completely disrespect to public property. Jumping into the pool making a turn so they will splash and get wet all the people around the pool.
Taking 2 trays of chocolate strawberries for them at a buffet. Shouting at all times using very bad words and the stupid cry of what I think is war Yo soy boricua! Pa que tu lo sepas! I hate that!! and even the CD of the AOS have adopted this cry. UGH! And even they had their own musical instruments that they used on the pool area along with the band. OMG! SEE??
But they are not all of us. People focus on this people. Sure they are not seeing us . We are quiet. I would love for people to really get to know us. Stay don’t come only to go directly to the ship or stay on the ship. Get to know the other part. The part that is friendly and likes all that come to visit have a great time. The people that likes to have fun, music and dance but knows how to behave. When and where. The good christian with a big heart. The giver. The silent ( and sometimes not so silent ) majority. I know that all this is happening not only on cruise ships but also in some states. I’m not blind.  If it wrong I’m going to say it even if it is my brother. But we are not only that… there is so much more. So come take a cruise here and stay a couple of days, see the island not only OLd San Juan. Get to know the real Puerto Rico. You’ll be surprised. Celebrity, not what it used to be

Eugenio is back! He has great pics. I haven’t talk to much with him because he went to work but he had a good time. Specially with his niece Jessica and nephew Jose Enrique. It seems they steal the show and became friends with every crew member and passenger of the cruise. Language was not a problem. They walk around the ship like VIP’s saying Hi and introducing their uncle to their “friends” Jose Enrique became so good friend with one on a bar that he gave Eugenio a free coke because he was his uncle. Can you believe this kids? hA! It was a relaxing cruise. They did  nothing. They would choose a good spot and they remained there for hours. Just talking and eating. They went to the islands for an hour and came back to do nothing. It seems that Celebrity best feature it’s now their worst. FOOD! Nobody like it. I remember it was veryyyyyyyyy good. The service in the Dinning room not good either.  I would tell you more as they tell me. Now take a look at some of Eugenio’s beautiful pics.

Christmas break

 

Uhhh ohhh At last I’m free!! At least until January 8. Today was the last day of work. We started the morning with a snack and then we all went to one of the libraries for a reflection. It started with some songs and then our principal asked some of our co- workers from other countries to speak about their Christmas. We started with my dear friend from Guatemala and then Argentina at this point we all got teary eyes as our friend from Argentina started remembering her Christmas as a child. She is very sick with cancer and today she started a treatment were she has to spend 10 days all alone at a room in a hospital receiving some radio therapy. Then friends from the Dominican Republic, Cuba, USA, Spain and Colombia shared their childhood Christmas memories with us. Then Father polo gave us a talk about Christmas and how it is mainly about love. It was beautiful and very true. Excellent! Then It was group work and mass.We ended our day with our christmas party. Now I have to concentrate on my kids gifts and getting everything ready for Christmas. Still don’t know were I’m going on the 24. I have to talk about it with Eugenio. He is going to be home tomorrow. I’ll let you know how the cruise went.

Only one day

So it’s already Thursday. Only one more day left of work and only one more day till Eugenio gets back from the cruise.My parents just left so it’s me and the kids and Vivi already has plans. it’s been a different week of mostly going to work. My mother has cooked all of this days a thing that both me and my kids have appreciated a lot. Me for not having to cook and the kids because my mother cooks much better. Every night I have gone to bed early so I am well rested. It have been nice to wake to work and being able to use my whole bedroom without worrying about waking up Eugenio. Being able to turn the light and make noise trying to find things and when I finish dressing staying at the computer until it’s time to go. Yes they are little things but they make a difference and I enjoyed them while they lasted. Tomorrow we some activities and a Mass during the morning and then the Christmas party until 3:00 and then I’m freeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Nothing new

Still nothing from Eugenio. In many of this islandsthe cell’s won’t work.Tomorrow they are going to be in Aruba and last time I could use the phone there so I guess I’m going to hear from him tomorrow. It has been peaceful at home. Nothing new. I saw Mamma Mia again last night> I bought it as soon as I got out of work. Love it Love it! I watch that movie with a smile. Happy happy movie. Just 2 more days of work and I am free!!

Well we didn’t much today. Just drove Vivi to work. Everybody is studying for the finals.I just discovered those vending machines for DVD’s. Yesterday I saw Zohan and today we are going to see Get Smart. For only $1.07 each. Not bad… for that amount I can rent movies more frequently. New releases each Tuesday. Talking about new releases Mamma Mia is coming out on Tuesday!! That I’m going to buy. My parents are coming tomorrow so I guess is movie night on Tuesday.

 

Solo cruise

I just left Eugenio on the pier and now he is onboard Celebrity’s Summit with his mother and his brother family. His second time on Celebrity. The first time we went Celebrity was at the top with the best cuisine at sea that was before RCCl got them. My mother in law invited him all expenses paid. At least the cruise. That’s the good thing about cruises once paid if you don’t have anymore money it doesn’t matter you won’t need it. All things necessary are covered. So this way he can go. Another kind of vacation can’t be done. I just talked to him and he sounds happy. It have been to long for him. He loves cruises more than any of us. It has been a year and a half since the last one and he hasn’t taken a vacation since. He has been working and trying hard to keep our business. I went on the AOS when my sister in law got sick and the trip for Utah and he has stayed home. I know it’s not going to be the same for him without us but at least he going to escape for a week. I used to fight with him because he always wanted to do the same thing cruise, cruise and we went to the same places over and over. I wanted to see new places!! All this changed after going to Europe. Now  he wants to see new places no more Caribbean but still he wants to see the new places on a cruise So I’m alone with the kids this week  and that in part is good. I will cook when I want. I will have the computer and the TV for myself  and I’m going to rest when I want My parents are coming for a few days to help me with the kids because I still have to work up to 3:00 until Friday and Cristian is going to be out of school at 9:00 on Monday so they are going to pick him and Vivi until they finish. Why not Vivi?? We haven’t had the money to put her on our car insurance. She is not a very good driver so we prefer not to give her car yet. It’s not the time. That is something we haven’t been able to do. I’m sorry but we just can’t. So we just take her to work and the train to school and she has many friends and cousins that drive her around so it’s not that bad either. Yesterday all the teacher’s went to Fuddrucker’s to celebrate our teacher of the year. She is a great person, very special. Married to our school psychologist she came from Guatemala and she won our hearts. She is our first and second grader’s religion teacher. 5 more days of work until Christmas vacation. I can’t wait!!

Update;

 Eugenio just called again. He loves the cabin. They just ate at the Lido because the Dinning room didn’t open until 8:30. It was open sitting today. Why it wasn’t open? anyway… He told me he ate some spaguetti and that they were so so. Desserts? ummm Not as good as Carnival. Told you he would start doing comparisons. LOL He told me something about narrow corridors and he started saying that at the Splendor’s…. That’s bad we didn’t used to do this…We were happy with everything. But our last experience was so perfect………Spoiled very spoiled rottennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Let’s see what he says when he comes back or it is just me??
