Wednesday of my last week of freedom

What’s happening ? Let’s see.. Vivi is doing great at her new job. The store is incredibly huge and it’s full of people. The Disneyland of women clothes it seams or at least it looks like it. Before it became our first Forever 21 store this space at the Food Court in Plaza used to be; first like 5 cinemas ( I don’t remember) and after that it became a bowling alley so now you have an idea of the size of this store. The thing is that it is beautiful and it has a lot of beautiful cheap clothes. Really If I had money I should have bought a lot and that in just one store. I wish you could have seem the amount of people on that store yesterday. CRAZY! JA! Lately I haven’t been doing much. Much the same thing. Last Friday we went to see the group that I like. The one that is a Beatles tribute. As always excellent. Had a great time with one of my co workers that also like then. You can see videos on my facebook.
This past Monday my friends came over to my house. I made brownies and tostones rellenos con pollo ( plantains stuffed with stewed chicken). The little girls spent the time in our plastic pool and  we talked a lot mainly about starting school. The boys took out some instruments and we even sang. On Monday we start to work on the school year. Our friend moves this weekend to the school on the other town. That is until December when he finish his studies. Then his life will change and that will bring him back close to us. He promise to come visit us to school at least once a week. He told us that when we least expect he will be at our door looking at us. JA!  We will miss having him there.  It’s going to be just the 3 of us girls in our jungle. We have to be tough in a what seems to be a difficult year starting with a new grades program and a Middle States visit and then for the second half of the year ahhhhh there is going to be some gossiping involving one of us. Soooo it’s our business. I don’t know what I’m going to wear to school!!! I don’t have anything not even shoes. I don’t think the uniform fits anymore and anyway it’s going to be the fourth year using it and really I’m bored……

How cute!

I have to put this one because I think it is so cute! My cousin told me that the captain played with her and that he actually act like he was crying and went beside a wall and everything just to made her smile.My cousin’s daughter is very girly and her mother told me that she never leaved the room without all her “jewelry” and purse. I can imagine how well she was treated in the ship making a sensation everywhere she went.I remember how it was with mine when they were little. I remember how many of them told me how much they miss their children. She is a real princess and I think from this picture that she was treated like one. JA!

Not difficult at all

It is not difficult at all to make converts out of non cruiser more if their first experience is so good. Not if you choose the right ship for you. Like when I suggested the carnival Victory for my cousin last February. As I already told you he was back at the Victory this week this time with his mother a woman who dedicated her whole life to raise her 2 kids alone and I think she has never taken a vacation to anyplace, his sister a first time cruiser and his 3 year old niece. They arrived today and even though we haven’t talked she wrote me a few words in facebook and seeing the pics I can tell they had a great time. This is what she wrote me about the cruise;
WOW! Awesome! … sad coming back to reality. The truth is that one forgets true life when on a cruise. My girl loved it. She really did enjoy it.
She also told me that her mom enjoy it a lot she even tried the slide!

When she arrived at the cabin she started to jump on the bed. He mother told me she already knew that what was coming was good. Welcome home!

The blog with no title

Going over this blog it seems I forgot two things and one of then is the title. The other is at the end.
I went to the west coast of the island under heavy rains and thunderstorms. Thank God all that went away leaving for the remainder of our stay temperatures under 90 degrees. That is good because the place that we were staying don’t have ac. The only thing is that it seems the rain leaved behind all kinds of flying bugs that sting. Even the Off didn’t work. It was terrible!! We had a good time and celebrated my niece 15 birthday. I was able to stay with them this days before my brother goes back to Pennsylvania were he lives. Tried to take pictures but as always there is someone missing. One of my brother who remained in Dallas working. His kids were with us though. Vivi is missing in the grandkids pics because she was working. My parents are celebrating their 46 anniversary today.

Opps! and I forgot to tell you do you remember my cousin? The one I got hooked on cruising after  I recomended  the Carnival Victory?

Well this week he is on board the Carnival Victory again. This time with his mom, sister and niece. He loved the ship so much that only after a few months he is back and this time he hooked 3 other. I can’t wait for the review.

New job and almost the end of the summer

Vivi got a new job. At the end of the week the first Forever 21 store in the island is going to open. It is one of the biggest of the chain of stores and maybe it’s going to be one of the best sellers of the nation as many of other chain stores are. Yes going to shopping malls and buying it’s one of our national pastimes. We are big spenders. Well anyway the store is located in our biggest and largest of the Caribbean shopping mall. Farther from home in the Hato Rey area.If any of you comes to PR and goes to Plaza Las Americas go find Vivi at the store. She was bored on the other job and they were not giving her enough work and now she has to save money if she wants to go for a semester in France. Now she is thinking about not going for a semester but rather spend the summer in Europe and taking not only french but going to Sorrento, Italy also and cover both languages. That way is cheaper and she has more time for saving and planning. Well for me is almost the end of the summer and it’s going to be a busy week. I’m trying to spend as much time with my friends. ON Saturday we went to the bar at Old San Juan again and we stayed until late. Had a good time as always. Tomorrow they are going to the beach but I can’t go because I’m going to Boqueron with me family. It’s the same place that we went that time for New Year’s. This time is to celebrate my niece’s 15 birthday. She lives In Pennsylvania. So I’m going to see my brother after 2 years( I think ) without seeing him. I’m going to stay there until Thursday. I
m going with Cristian while the other 2 work. Two more weeks and I’m back at school if the dreaded flu let us.

The dreaded virus

It seems that things are getting ugly with the famous pig flu. It was forgotten for a while and now things are in full bloom again. At least here. I hate when this things happen because of the hysteria it creates and the people here like the drama. I’m tired of it. I’m going to take the necessary precautions but it’s not going to take over my life. Everything is going to be normal around this household. We can’t run, we can’t hide we have to deal with it. In 3 weeks the school years is going to start and then thing are going to get difficult. Let’s see how this goverment deals with it.

Excitement…

Things are a little to quiet here and I miss the excitement. My new found excitement…. excitement that I dread to lose again. We are not seeing each other every day at school and there are some things I definitely miss. I see the girls more often but the Brother… I’m not seeing a lot of him. I miss our serious conversations side by side at the sofa in the office. I have to get used to that. He is leaving and I’m not going to see a lot of him. I’m not good at the phone either so we will keep in touch via the girls that talk a lot more with him. Remember I was the last one to arrive at this group and they were already very close. I have not reached that status and I have tried. I can tell I have that relationship with one of them but the other 2 well… not quite. We didn’t go out on Friday so I didn’t see them in the weekend. I don’t want to go back to were I was. On Friday we were going to celebrate that my friend husband( the school psychologist) got a job at the Veteran’s Hospital here. Very good job and well deserved. There situation is going to get better and that is great. At least one of us. I’m talking money $$ JA! Nothing much happening here. So that’s all. I’m going to get you bored.

Summer going fast

uhhh so fast… more for those of us that had just started it. Going out more than any summer in recent years though. Now I have friends to go out so I do go out more often. Some good news and changes among or group. New job, divorce, new life and apartment. The only one that remains unchanged it’s me. But I have hope. At least some people are looking at the building for sale and the paper… the famous paper left to get before we can do anything with the building it’s finally here. So let’s see if there are some good news for me too. I’m happy for my friends. God is tracing our paths, our next movements. We have to keep praying. I can’t hide I miss the refugee. The long serious talks, the peace. Tomorrow we are going to celebrate the new things. Maybe the bar at Old San Juan. Let’s see.

Wait..

I haven’t told you..Do you remember my waiter on my Med Freedom cruise and later on my visit to the Freedom,Tina? The one we love so much? Well the other day I had a new friend’s request on Facebook. You know who it was? Her! It was a nice surprise. She no longer works with Carnival but it’s now at her country working in a hotel and studying to be an travel agent. Even though I will no longer see her on a ship I’m glad we can keep I touch through facebook.

Finally summer or summer vacation

Finally I’m on vacation!! Before we that on Monday we had unoficially said goodbye to our summer work going to one of my co worker’s apartment at the beach in Dorado. Wednesday was my first day of freedom. I went to my parents on Wednesday until Thursday and then on Friday we have planned on taking the brother’s parents to a beach in Isabela. Living In a island I have to confess that I don’t go to the beach often. So I’m a little pale. To be sincere I don’t love the sun. But my friends and I are determined to change that a little. So yesterday we went to the school(yes again) to reunite with the others for the hour and a half drive to the beach. This time my kids joined me. Love the beach because it is very shallow and quiet. We spent the whole day sitting there. Everybody got sunburned to some degree but we had a lot of fun. If you are at the beach the whole day it doesn’t matter who much sunblock you use you are going to get sunburned. Count on it. I don’t think they are so effective anymore. Global warning ? Ech whatever
Anyway I don’t know if i’ll become a beach bum this summer but I’m off to a good start with 2 days at the beach in a week. I also want to move around the island more and enjoy the beauty of it. I can’t travel so I’m going to enjoy what I have. How things change when you have new friends. Well until now it has been worth it. Happy 4 of July!!
